Cowes to The Canaries. Via Brest, La Rochelle, Lisbon, Faro. Approximately 1900 Nm
Sept 17th 2017 for 3 Weeks
it was some of the best offshore sailing I’ve done – really excellent, We were going very fast but the guys were matching our speed.”
The Sun Chaser
As the last of summer starts to fade away & you can smell autumn in the air. Why not make your summer last a bit longer in 2017 and join us as we head south to the Canary Islands on an epic 3 week blast south.
On route we will make plans to stop along the way.
Brest in Brittany then on to La Rochelle. All night stops to stretch the legs and refresh.
We then move down to Northern Spain and Portugal, with a full day in the historic city of Lisbon which is best appreciated from the mighty Tigris River as you sail in under the big suspension bridge. narrow lanes, steep steps & trams are all part of the cities charm.
From Lisbon its Faro the southern most city on the Algarve. Temperatures here average around 26C in late September. It’s our last stop before we head for the Canary Islands so a good run ashore is the order of the day.
We the sail from here to the Canaries along the Moroccan Coast. The longest single passage. We will make for Santa Cruz if we have time but unlike Nelson who attacked the Port in 1797 we might just attack the bars for an ice cold beer.
We will cruise as much of the islands as the remaining time will permit before we finally reach the port of Las Palmas on Gran Canaria.
We wont kick you straight off the boat, chill for a day or two before getting your flight home.
Easy Jet Fly from Gran Canaria to Bristol, Gatwick, Southend, Manchester & Newcastle. Prices vary but we have found them from £65-
So excluding your flights and what you spend ashore the trip is only £1250.
That includes all onboard food and drink, berthing and marina charges.
We will offer you a free loan of our Musto Oilys and of course one of our Famous Kooga Sailing TEAM shirts to keep.
On board will be a maximum of 6 guests plus skipper and mate.
Essentially none. Although you will have plenty of opportunity to jump ship and head home if you find being at sea disagrees with you. However we want you to love it, so having some off shore sailing experience is essential.
